Christie, Drane & Forwood Family Orthodontics is looking for an extraordinary Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our work family in Media, PA.

About the role:
The Orthodontic Assistant is a key member of our clinical team, responsible for providing all aspects of clinical patient care in a professional, efficient, and caring manner.
The Orthodontic Assistant is involved in a wide range of patient care activities, including assisting the doctor during appointments, sterilization procedures, setting up the operatories, and x-rays.
What you will be doing - key
Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
Build positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers to ensure the targeted outcome treatment remains on schedule.
Assist Orthodontist with consultations and all stages of orthodontic procedures.
Educate patients on oral hygiene.
Provide patient instruction/education.
Provide reports to parents/guardians.
Enter detailed chart/record notations in the practice management system.
Placing and removing wires.
Fitting orthodontic appliances.
Clean/disinfect operatories and sterilize instruments and devices.
Set up trays and prepare brackets for bonding.
Unload and store new supplies.
Take x-rays, photos, and impressions- both traditional and digital.
Pouring and trimming study models.
Maintain patient confidence.
Maintain clean and safe working environment.
Protect patient and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocol.
Great teamwork with all team members is expected.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Doctor, Clinical Lead, and Practice Manager.

Must be available 1 Saturday a month during the school year.
What you bring -
Qualifications:
Orthodontic Assisting experience is preferred, but not required.
Willingness to learn and be a team player are most valued.
Good understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.
Proficiency with orthodontic management software systems is preferred but not required.
Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written), with a proven ability to build strong relationships and rapport with patients, parents, doctors, fellow team members and the community.
Keen attention-to-detail and time management skills.
Dependability and a strong work ethic.
